Wei Hong's second location on Grand saves you a trip to Chinatown but serves the same, authentic Chinese fare. I highly recommend their egg tofu for a savory dish. For their baked goods, go early while they're fresh and hot! For meat eaters, the bbq pork buns are perfection. For sweet baked goods, the egg tarts, sesame balls, and pineapple buns are classics.

I have SEARCHED for the BAKED char siu bao. This was the only place I could find in STL that had it. Everyone has the steamed version but this place has the baked ones and I was beyond excited. The bread was sweet and the dough they used was perfect even when reheated at home. The woman behind the counter even went and got me some of the fresh ones because I think I bought all the ones in the case lol. I also bought red bean sesame balls which were done perfectly. All I can say is these people know what they're doing. Prices were great I would have paid much much more for what I bought. Seriously a great find. I did not dine in I just took my stuff to go but I WILL BE BACK. So glad to have found them.

Stopped here to get some roasted duck, bakeries, and their crispy pork. Roast duck wasn't what I was expecting. Their crispy pork was a bit salty. Staff are very friendly. Definitely will be back if we're in town. Highly recommend their bakeries and pre made items. Perfect for a road trip

We were in the area so we decided to come here to pick up some food to go after our morning coffee and dessert at another place nearby. It has been over a year since we stop by Wei hong. The bakery has several premade options, so we brought them. We did not order from the menu due to being in a bit of a time crunch in this particular day. The food tastes decent. We would definitely order from the menu next time and probably would call in to order. I wish this place would be a dine in place like before COVID, Unfortunately it is only to go.

Love this place! Only sad they are only carry out now. I get the house special stir fried, so good. Lots of little seafood/fish fried and crispy. Red bean paste sesame balls for dessert. No one does them better! Before the pandemic I would meet friends and we would order several dishes; Chicken Lo Mein with extra veggies, Vegetable Fried Rice, and Stir Fried Eggplant. You can't go wrong with any of these! I ordered Fried Potstickers, don't remember having them before but can't imagine why not.

Coming from an area where Asian food is very prevalent, it has been overall tough to find good Chinese bakeries/food in STL, but this place definitely does hit the spot. Came here near closing hour, and everything was take out only (unclear how long this had been going on). I got the roasted pork, BBQ pork, ham and scallion bun, and BBQ pork buns. The roasted pork (which I purchased by the pound) was very good, extremely tender and juicy. The skin is cooked perfectly, where it's super crisp/crunchy and the fat is perfectly rendered. The BBQ pork had a good amount of tenderness and mild natural pork sweetness. The BBQ pork bun was also very good, the bread was the right amount of chew and tenderness. Finally, the ham and scallion bun was exceedingly delicious, with the right amount of balance of flavors. Overall, a good experience, and will definitely come back to try the other pastries. 4/5 stars.
